The 2026 Mazda CX-5 has a bigger wheelbase and more space inside, plus the largest infotainment touchscreen available on any Mazda model. Exterior Design 

Line these two SUVs up and you’ll see the biggest difference right away — the 2026 Mazda CX-5 is bigger than ever. Inspired by the “Wearable Gear” concept of rugged Mazda design, this SUV is taller, longer, and has a more intimidating look in the front. There’s a new look from the rear, too: more angular rear taillights give it a sportier style than the 2025 Mazda CX-5. 

Interior Highlights 

The 2026 Mazda CX-5 is 4.5 inches longer than the 2025 model, which, combined with a higher ceiling, gives tall riders more room to stretch. The rear cargo area is also more accessible. With more than an inch more vertical space, accessing the 59.3 cubic feet of rear cargo space in this year’s new Mazda SUV will be even easier than in the 2025 Mazda CX-5. 

Technology Features 

Connect with your apps, messages, and more on the go more easily than ever with the biggest available touchscreen in a Mazda SUV yet. While the 2025 Mazda CX-5 only came with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 features a massive available 15.6-inch interface. When you want to focus on the road, use available Google built-in — new for this model — and issue commands hands-free. 

Power and Performance 

The 2026 Mazda CX-5 will be powered by the same engine as the 2025 Mazda CX-5, but performance has been tuned for the new larger footprint. While the standard powertrain will still deliver 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, there’s more aggression at high speeds and a smoother ride at low ones. There are even more shake-ups in the future: a hybrid Mazda CX-5 is planned for 2027.
